There's lots of ways that you can be a part of the Des Moines Derby Dames team.

  • Be a Fan: Come out to each and every Des Moines Derby Dames bout. Check the website often to find out when we'll be playing next. All of our home bouts are at the 7 Flags Events Center in Clive.

  • Be a Volunteer: We're always looking for volunteers to help out at bouts. Duties normally include taking tickets, selling merchandise and helping with on-site staff. Plus, you get into the bout for free! If you're interested, please send an email to volunteers@dmderbydames.com

  • Be a Sponsor: The Des Moines Derby Dames is first and foremost, a non-profit organization. We survive on the generosity of our fans and sponsors. There are many opportunities for sponsor exposure. This includes, but is not limited to: website, in-bout mentions, program ads and appearances. Your business or company can become a sponsor of the Des Moines Derby Dames for a very reasonable fee. For more information, contact Stacy Broders at sponsorships@dmderbydames.com

  • Be a Referee/NSO (Non-skating official): These take a little more training. Watch the website for when we're holding open calls for refs and NSOs. You'll be required to attend weekly practices and pass a skills assessment. You may be required to skate. For more information, contact Z'Ro Tolerance at refs@dmderbydames.com

  • Be a player: Twice a year, the Des Moines Derby Dames will hold "Fresh Meat" cattle calls for anyone that is interested in playing for the Dames. In order to be eligible, you must be over 18. Proof of insurance is also a plus. You will be required to attend weekly practices, team functions and will be subject to a skills assessment. Our next "Fresh Meat" cattle call is scheduled for spring 2012. Watch the events page for the latest information.

Please note that ALL positions with the Des Moines Derby Dames are non-paid positions.
